What People Think of Lansdowne 2.0
Join the growing ranks of residents making their voice heard that this is a bad use of tax dollars.
Earlier this summer, Mayor Sutcliffe went out of his way to prevent the public from speaking at Council on Lansdowne, and specifically whether there should be a referendum to decide its future.
Individuals across Ottawa wanted to talk to the subject, and if the City wasn’t going to allow that consultation to happen, then a People’s Committee would.

The People’s Committee met in-person in June and online in July.
Public delegations presented for over 3 hours.

I have told my Councillor if she votes yes on Landsdowne 2.0 I will do everything to ensure she is unseated in the next municipal election. Central Park in NYC doesn’t give up park space to developers. Once it’s gone you can’t get it back.
Lansdowne 2.0, an attempt to rejuvenate an outdoor, undersized, poorly located and financially shaky facility, for a city heading towards 2 million in 30 years, should be deferred to a new, central, covered stadium and revert Lansdowne to a community greenspace once the new stadium is built.
