Neil, I've supported you financially before, but I really think this is a mistake. You'd have a better shot running for council, and then aiming to become mayor afterward. Ward councilors have almost as much political power as the mayor. Becoming one could both remove a bad councilor (and their vote), and add you, a better one.
Neil, I agree with your analysis of the degree to which the cronies and power brokers are running the City. However there is nothing new in this analysis. Many people have been tackling this issue for, dare I say, decades. The only thing that has changed are the specifics about new developments. What do you intend to do about it? For one, would you or could you roll back commitments on Lansdowne 2. Would you attempt to scrap the Tewin development? Is there anything that can be done about the ridiculous amount of money paid for the dump lands? Do you have any idea how to fix public transit? I would like to join your 1000, but not before you outline what you intend to do about these issues. Cheers.
