Hi, I’m Neil, author of the 613.

I like to think of myself as a community organizer.

Hardest thing ever. It’s chasing a storm. Herding the cats. Fighting the man. All at once.

But also the most rewarding. So many great people doing what they can to improve their corner of the universe.

I’m a cofounder of CitySHAPES, and write a lot about building better cities at Fix Your City. I’ve spent a lifetime in public finance, and know all the best fiscal magic tricks.

Beyond that … husband, dad, dogs, bikes, skis, ultimate. Often all at once. (Ask me about skijoring).
