Maybe if the City still had enough staff to answer the phones they wouldn't need to be on X or any other platforms. They have now removed the information desk at City Hall.

How did we find out anything in 2008?

The pathways on the Mikan are way too narrow for all the traffic. Hate to encourage more paving of greenspace, but it's not really safe to walk with the amount of wheel traffic.

Thanks for my 33.58 minute hit of Munipan:)

A lot of the NCC MUPs are now to busy for mixed use. They need to be widened, either for wider mixed use or to have specific higher speed (bike, scooter, etc) lanes.

Absolutely more people answering the phone to provide the connection to the correct person to resolve the issue. The most frustrating part of any business is either a chat bot to try to answer your question or to be directed to a web page with choices which do not match your situation. GRRRR! I am old, ride a trike, and am often slower than bikes whizzing by, so I must resort to sidewalks (deferring to pedestrians, always,) so I want rules to allow kids and elders or mobility-challenged to ride sidewalks legally. Commuter cyclists, E-bikes, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades definitely need bike lanes well-separated from cars. QE bike paths are not wide enough even for recreational cyclists. But there need to be education/consequences for cyclists who do not follow rules of consideration for cars or other cyclists. Maybe more police on bikes on trails at busy times to issue tickets?

Neil. The closure of The Bay on Rideau Street seems a virtual certainty. The store has been in decline for years but its closure will simply add to the catastrophe that is the market and all of downtown. There is no possibility that the building will be used for another department store—the concept is dead. No need for more office space and not easily converted to housing. Heavy municipal investment is sure to be needed at a time when the city is spending millions on a failed professional sports venue—Lansdowne. Closure of the Bay will also weaken malls like Bayshore and St Laurent.

The NCC definitely missed the ball with the parkway along the Canal getting decreased to mornings only. Even pushing it back to 2pm would allow for people to go downtown for lunch and back. The MUP along the canals are already constantly over crowded, and really need to be widened.

I agree that Wellington being closed to cars would be a great benefit for tourism and getting around in the city. As a whole our bike paths and connections aren't well mapped or have good way finding, and have plenty of "missing links".

Project 4000, Ottawa's resettlement of Southeast Asian refugees in 1979 and 1980, would not have been successful without the leadership of Mayor Dewar. “Fine. We’ll take the other 4,000.”

The city's failures in the sprung structure debacle, in contrast, are largely due to a failure of leadership in the current mayor's office.

We desperately need more bridges to Gatineau in both the east and west end, which would help with the excess traffic near the existing ones.
